Selfmade - Cake Is A Lie

The contradictory nature of the pastry trend and the idea of rewarding ourselves with something sweet is what led us to the idea of concocting "Cake is a lie". The name is a reference to the cult game Portal. In the story of the game, the artificial intelligence GLaDOS gives tasks to the main character, motivating him with an abstract cake at the end of all tasks. With this phrase, the previous GLaDOS test subjects try to warn the protagonist about the pointlessness of completing tasks for a cake. Nevertheless, it is impossible to say unequivocally whether the protagonist would have received this reward or not. We used a multi-component blend of speciality malts. British chocolate and baked from Crisp and a couple of specialities from Belgians Castle Malting. Was there a cake?
