Fall River Winter Run Redd

The now endangered winter run Chinook were historically the largest run of salmon on the Sacramento River. The salmon's redd, or nest, is fragile and can be impacted by walking on them, especially in easily-accessed areas like above the Sundial Bridge. Redds can be visibly identified as areas of clean gravel among the darker river rocks.
