Granite Falls Three Paw

Three Paw is tribute to a three-legged, mischievous black bear that was never given a name. He roamed through an NC neighborhood in 2012 in search of food but was killed after complaints from residents. Some suggested that relocating the bear would have been the more humane solution. Goal in producing this flavored porter is not to condemn the locals involved, but to raise awareness of the awkward—too often tragic—interaction between humans and our native bear population. Three Paw is brewed with chocolate malts and hazelnut essence, which lends a creamy, decadent character atop a robust chocolatey body. Released in the winter months to be enjoyed with loved ones around a campfire, Three Paw toasts our furry neighbors who routinely share their home and backyard.
