Hops are one of the 4 basic beer ingredients and most beers cannot be made without that ingredient. Hops are most commonly used in breweries roasted in pellets or dried in cones, but there is another option of using hops - when freshly harvested on a hop farm and put into brewing beer within 24 hours of picking. This type of production is called wet hop / fresh hop . Wet hop beer provides the most powerful and raw hop pleasure. The production of fries hops is difficult to control in production and therefore the prediction of final bitterness in beer (IBU) is difficult.
