In the 1880s, Guinness was being exported to all corners of the world. By the middle of that decade, the Guinness brewery at St. James's Gate, Dublin, had become the largest brewery in the world. Celebrating the current Golden Age of Guinness in 2025 by brewing a recipe for this classic, dry Extra Stout, taken from a recipe 140 years ago from the Guinness Archives.
