The Great Dane Caramel Weizenbock

A twist on their traditional hefe-weizen and is the culmination of five different formulations from both downtown and the Hilldale Great Dane. They began with their classic recipe (i.e. Crop Circle) but changed the pils base malt to Munich malt, thus adding a malty/bready sweetness. They also added four different types of caramel malts that showcase their variety of caramel malts currently produced by maltsters around the world. The robust caramel character blends very nicely with the typical banana/clove esters from the weizen yeast, resulting in a balanced yet complex flavor profile befitting the noble German brewing tradition.
