5x5 Brewing Co.

5x5 Brewing Co. is the brainchild of brothers, Matt Mazur, George Rice and a longtime friend, Matt Bowling. Displeased with the available variety of beers in the Rio Grande Valley in the early 1990s, Mazur and Bowling played with the idea of starting a beer-centric publication. They hoped to help educate local RGV beer and develop a demand for more new and exciting beers, but it never launched. With a strong interest in beers, Bowling began a 15-year journey into the home brewing scene. With a few well-received competitions, he was able to hone his craft and develop the incredible recipes that are used today at 5x5 Brewing Co.
