Wawel is the most valuable monument of national history and culture in Poland. Picturesquely located in the bend of the Vistula River in Krakow. It is a treasury of knowledge about Polish history, and at the same time a symbol of their continuity. The Wawel castle existed already in the pre-Piast period, when the center of the tribal state of the Vistulans was located here (9th century). From the early Middle Ages, it became the center of secular and church power. Wawel has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1978. The brewery draw on the rich history of the Wawel Hill, at the foot of which, once a dangerous dragon lived in the Jurassic cave.
