Black Shirt Brewing Co. was founded in 1999 and opened to the public in 2012. As the old adage goes, “good things take time.” Since their opening, the've collected many awards and accolades for the quality of their beer, their ambiance, and their customer service (you can check those out here). Many years ago, they became fascinated with the art and science of fermentation and the social aspect of sharing what they made with their community. None of us had never operated a commercial brewery before but they jumped into their journey with both feet—they read every book they could get their hands on, studied every article, and got to work. It’s been said that you can do anything you put your mind to, and they set out to prove that to theirselves.
