Dendermonde has a new brewery: in picturesque Mespelare, Brewery Steeman makes original, innovative beers. After his home-brewed beers became more and more successful, the hobby of brewer David Steeman, which got out of hand, quickly grew into a real brewery. With a lot of passion for the craft he devises and brews separate beers on a self-made test installation. Belgium has a rich brewing tradition that, according to David, lingers just too much in the traditional range of Blond, Brown and Tripel. To show that good beer can also be original and innovative, as the growing craft beer movement shows abroad, the Steeman brewery makes beers such as a coffee tripel, a Stout with marshmallows, a mandarin blonde or a Stout with peated whiskey taste .
