Beschreibung

In mapudungun Kaf means working the land. They chose that name because they have a strong commitment to the countryside, for the hops we grow and harvest and for beer, since we feel it as a source of connection between the countryside and the city, and in Mapudungun, because their house is in Araucanía , a beautiful land, that they must conserve and protect. Since 1997 their brewer and founder, Alvaro Leiva, has brewed beer, started at his parents' house, brewing with little more than pots and pans borrowed from his mother. Over the years, their beers continued to improve and improve quality, always pushing the limits in search of originality. In 2009 Alvaro founded Kaf, and we have been part of the beer revolution in South America since then. Today they are known as pioneers in the production of hops (they have four different varieties next to their factory), they use 100% Patagonian malt and spring water to produce the highest quality beers. They like to think that there is no more pure or Chilean beer. Internationally, their beers have already earned popularity and medals at the American Beer Cup in 2014 and 2015. Locally, they are known for their support of the farmer micro-communities where they were born, in Cunco.
