It’s traditional craft beer with a modern twist. Visiting shop, you’ll be sure of a tail wagging welcome from English Springer Spaniels, descendants of the late Jem, mascot who is fondly remembered on bottle labels and draft beer bar tags. Jem was with us when started out in 2007 after research showing strong demand for classic British beers. Growing own malting barley gave us a good start and have since developed special strains of yeast as well as experimenting with homegrown hops, although they are difficult this far north.
