The history of brewing beer in Rožnov dates back to 1712. It was in the hands of important aristocratic families Žerotín, Fürstenberk, Kinský, Rothschild. However, the walls of the brewery already remember the time of Přemysl Otokar II., During whose reign Rožnov Castle was built, from the masonry of which a brewery was subsequently erected below the hill.
Due to the ever-growing exhibition of beer, the area of the steam-engine brewery was often expanded, as the production technology changed over the centuries. From the original production of top-fermented beer, which has been preserved in Western countries, the so-called bottom fermentation was transferred, which meant the need for larger cellars and lager cellars. At the end of the 18th century, another 3 cellars were added below the Kozák mountain and granaries above them.
After the war, the brewery was fundamentally reconstructed. A modern copper brewery was purchased, which was carved after nationalization by the Přerov brewery in January 1949, and then ended up in scrap metal. A similar fate awaited the entire technology of the brewery. Some technological components incl. hundreds of lager barrels were transported to Přerov ......
The last exhibitions took place in January 1949.
