The Šumava Brewery continues the tradition of brewing beer in Vimperk, which dates back to the founding of Vimperk Castle and Chateau in the 13th century and which was interrupted in 1967. The Šumava Brewery was founded in 2010 by Ing. Ivan and MUDr. Alena Hojdarových. The Šumava brewery is one of the small breweries that focus on brewing beer according to traditional methods and recipes. Unfiltered and unpasteurized beers are produced without any artificial additives or preservatives directly in the restaurant, where the breweries are located, and in the adjacent cellar, where you will find a cellar, lager barrels and related technology. The breweries are stainless steel with copper plating of 2.5 hl and electric heating, fermentation takes place in a traditional open cellar and the beer matures for several weeks in lager tanks and barrels.
