A holy beer: St. Bonifatius

This special beer is brewed only once a year. Originally monks brewed it themselves. But when the brewery became unprofitable, they commissioned the Memminger brewery to brew the beer for them. Originally, this beer existed only during Lent, where the monks were forbidden to eat solid food. Liquid was not forbidden here and so the monks have brewed a beer with a higher nutritional value for themselves.
The Bonifatius beer is considered a rarity in the region and is deliberately not offered all year round. For a few years, this beer is brewed a second time and bottled in the can for the Brewer's Advent Calendar, which is sold in the US and Canada only.

Martin has interviewed Birgit, a brewer, about this beer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AomD2xuA7xU

Let us know, how you like this daily beer, out of the brewer's advent calendar?
