Brewer's Advent Day 17: Buergerbraeu Alpenstoff

Today, the Buergerbraeu is the only brewery in Bad Reichenhall. With 14 varieties of the best award-winning beers, the brewery is today a guarantor of Bavarian beer culture far beyond the region. Its constant efforts to achieve the highest quality for the best beer enjoyment were honored in 2008 with the Federal Honor Award of the German Agricultural Society and annually with the "Prize of the Best" in gold.

A rich and not too dark golden color without any cloudiness visually characterizes the Alpenstoff, which has a snow-white, medium foam crown with nice stability. The foam adheres well to the glass. Very intense, cereal malt notes reach the nose, as well as slightly sweet notes and some fruity-sour apple notes. These flavors also continue in the nose, the malt notes are a bit more intense and the fruity acidity is also much more dominant. Very full-bodied mouthfeel. Carbonation is very average, but fits well. A rather thinner body around the now predominantly sweeter malt notes also brings the first, very light bitter hop notes. Dry and short aftertaste with fruity sour notes in the aftertaste.
