There is a brewery where women reign supreme in the Gaming neighbourhood of Altötting, Bavaria. Three sisters operate the brewery and the Restaurant. Sabine Detter und Birgit Strasser are both master brewers, Iris Detter is a restaurant specialist. A good and very successful combination.
A lot of European Beer Star Awards went to the sisters. They can call their own one bronze and five gold Awards. Two of the golden ones for "Kirta", the today's beer, in the competition category South German-Style Hefeweizen Dunkel.
"Kirtaweissbier" was once brewed as a festival beer for the Altötting Autumn Festival - it was intended for serving in the festival tent. Today it is part of the brewery's regular range. Dark malt and a little roasted malt give the beer a mahogany color. Kirtaweissbier is fruity and malty. Fine noses will notice a slight chocolate touch.
