Brewer's Advent Day 13: Wieninger Hoamat Weissbier

The Wieninger family has been brewing in the south of Bavaria for 350 years and seven generations. The brewery is located in Teisendorf, a small village not far from the delightful city of Salzburg. Today we are enjoying Wieninger's wheat beer. "Hoamat" is its name, which means "homeland". The Bavarian homeland is important to the Wieningers. All the ingredients for this wheat beer grow in the region, the hops even thrive in their own garden, they have their own yeast strain and the water comes from their own spring. The Wieninger brewery brews its beers gently, ferments traditionally in open fermenting vats. Brewmaster Bernhard Löw personally takes care of every brew. He is an advocate of long storage times and gentle filtration. Wieninger Hoamat is a typical Bavarian wheat beer. Yeast-cloudy with a golden yellow color and dense foam. It impresses with its fruity aroma, tingling aftertaste and mild, mellow flavor. It goes best with poultry and fish dishes, vegetable dishes, fresh cheese and fruity desserts.
