Welde stands for authentic, independent brewing art and exclusive beer enjoyment. In their brewery in Baden, they have been ensuring for more than 260 years that first-class beers are made from the best raw materials, traditional craftsmanship and innovative ideas. Beers that are as they should be: perfect craftsmanship and with a unique taste.
Founded in 1752, the brewery was listed by name in the registers of the town of Schwetzingen for the first time. It was at this time that the Elector Carl Theodor first granted the licence to brew beer to the local Heinrich Joos, who from then on led the brewery to the success that was to grow steadily over generations. Not quite 100 years later, the master brewer Heinrich Seitz took over today's inn "Welde Stammhaus" with the former name "Grünes Laub" (Green Leaves), which was already a popular place to start drinking beer at that time.
In the course of the 1980s, Wilhelm Spielmann handed over to his son Dr. Hans Spielmann the family business, which had grown into a modern private brewery, which today is known for its first-class beer, its traditional quality awareness, its innovative products and not least for its modern advertising campaigns and brewery tours beyond the region.
In April 2017 Max Spielmann, master brewer, beer brewer and merchant, joined the company.
