Modern Times Brewing had to file for bankruptcy in March. The brewery had set its sights on expansion, but the pandemic shattered its success. Brewing sites in Portland, Oregon, Oakland, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles were closed. The remaining sites went into auction.
This took place on June 17. The winning bid was initially awarded to Brewing X; Maui's bid came in second. As the online magazine inside beer reports, Brewing X withdrew from the purchase and Maui Brewing came out on top.
